Halloween Tag

Remember when I made these tags for a friend, but the Dad got left out of the group?  I decided to whip up his tag so I could have them all ready when Halloween rolls around. {which will be sooner than I think...}

The main part of the tag is all the eyeballs.  I used one of the shake it pouches to keep all the creepy eyeballs in one place.  They coordinate perfectly with nesties, too.  I stamped all the black sentiments in Momento.

Do you see the house from Tiny Town behind the eyeballs?  The sentiment is from the Too Cute to Spook set.

Aren't you glad he didn't get left out?  ~megan

Digi Designs Day

Welcome to digi designs day for My Favorite Things. Check Kim's blog by 11am EST to see a list of ALL the participants. There's a lot going on! There's a few new templates (PDF, SVG, GSD, & DXG) that are releasing today as well as the paper I used today.

I wanted to focus on the digi papers that are in the MFT store. Of which, the newest being released: Halloween Dotty Papers. They're so cute! I had to choose the black dots and make a quick and easy card. Of course, I used Tiny Town Halloween for the little pumpkin girl and the framed greetings dienamic.

To tell the honest truth, I was stamping a little accent paper that said "BOO" over and over. Once I got all those "BOOs" together, it started looking like "BOOB, BOOB, BOOB." I figured that wasn't the best Halloween sentiment, so I chose to stick with a singular "BOO." It's the only way to go, right?

I used Banner Day Alphabet for the BOO I settled with.

I made a little pumpkin treat by using jelly beans in an orange bag. You could use a clear bag and orange jelly beans, but Very Cherry is my favorite flavor and I didn't want orange {pout}. I tied off the top with some fabric tape and tied on a few green dienamic leaves.

This is also for this week's stamp club in the MFT forum. The challenge is "dressed up" and you can choose someone playing dress up, someone dressed up for going out, or someone dressed up for Halloween.

That's all from me! Be sure to check Kim's blog so you can see it all. ~megan

Pumpkin SFYTT

Good morning stampers! I have a little pumpkin SFYTT today. As I was thinking about what stamps to use, I thought about my Verves being a little lonely. I saw this pumpkin and thought it'd be fun to make a little autumn card to bring in the new season.

My PSE was giving me fits, so this'll have to do. I'm not thrilled with iPhoto's editing job, but I'm taking what I can get today.

I stamped the pumpkins in Momento ink and cut the panel out with nesties. I used this new Kaiser paper to paper piece the pumpkins. There's glitter on some of those pretty green leaves so I added a little bling on top of the pumpkins. I tied it up with some thin ribbon that's difficult to work with.

My sample isn't exactly like the sketch. I accidentally didn't make two squares, but one big rectangle. Maybe I meant to do it that way...

Check out my SFYTT sisters:

I hope y'all have a good Saturday. It's Jay's birthday and he's thinking sushi. And family time.

MFT VIP Blog Hop

Welcome to the VIP blog hop.  If you started at Kim's blog and are hopping along, you're on the right track!

I've got a few little things to show you.  I've had this little box of tags sitting on my desk and I keep using them!  I seem to be accumulating altered tags and they're handy to have around.  You can pop them on a wrapped gift, a bag, or even a card

These would even be fun to pop on a Christmas tree or wreath.

A red one, with a snowflake dienamic.

A green one, with a button attached.

A pink one, with the snowflake dienamic and a little cork.

A blue one, with felt cut with snowflake dienamic and small scallop border dienamic.

Here they are again, all lined up.

I used sentiments and snowflakes from the VIP set and the EXCLUSIVE mini set {that is ONLY available with the VIP kit} to make these tags.

Also, I have a CAS card using the Noel sentiment, a mini set snowflake, and Bling 'Bet.

Here's the VIP Kit.

Now, hop along to the talented Christina to see what goodies she has in store!

IHP DT September Challenge

***scroll down for my MFT a la mode post--you don't want to miss this girl!***

This months challenge {which I love} is Treats and Tablescapes. After some inspiration from the girls on the team, I decided a treat bag for a sweet dog friend was the way to go.

All the stamps I used are discontinued. The dog is from Elzybells and the alphabet is by CHF.

I stamped the image in Momento ink and colored it with Copics and cut with nesties. I added a little sparkle with Stickles, some *new* pleated ribbon under the puppies name, and tied it up with some fun green twill.

Check out the other girls here:

a la modes: Miss You a Latte

Are you ready for this? I mean, are you really really ready? This girl is the CUTEST! I can't even stand these little {big} cups she's holding.

See what I mean? You had to be ready for this cuteness.

I stamped this girl in Momento on a Perfect Paper Panel and colored her with Copics. I cut it and the sentiment panel with nesties. I used the notebook edge dienamic and some crazy stitching on the back panel. She {along with the other a la mode and the VIP kit} be available 10pm tonight.

Here's some info about these girls:
- Each set is produced in the USA using the highest quality rubber, with the deepest etch possible.
- Each image and sentiment is backed on cling foam and scroll cut, making it ready for stamping right out of the bag!
- Packaged in a clear hang bag, we’ve also provided the ideal storage solution by including a thick laminated header card in each set that can be used to store the stamp set, in its entirety, after purchase.

Did anyone else immediately think of Jodi when you saw this image? Yeah, me too. :)

Sassy SFYTT

Good Saturday morning to you. We have lots going on today at our house, do you? Did you make banana muffins this morning? With glaze? ME TOO!

Today's card is a bit out of my comfort zone. My "norm" isn't to pair such wild colors together or use vintage with shabby or have large patterns in my paper. However {and this is a big however} I am loving Crate papers new lines. I got too, resisted one, but that was futile. They're so much fun.

I paired it with Stamping Bella's Mismatch Ketto. She's watercolored with Twinkling H2Os on MFT's watercolor cardstock. I cut her out with nesties and stamped the sentiment with Momento.

Sweet and Simple Thank Yous

Is it already Friday?  This week has been speedy fast.  Emma and I are hanging out a local coffee shop editing some photos and surfing some blogs.  I had a request for a picture.  Here's a happy face:

Oh, how I love it when she smiles.  She can smile big too.  It's so sweet.

Since it's been busy and I had a few thank you notes to write, I made a few simple thank you cards using  MFT's Thanks a Bunch.  I used some paper from Hobby Lobby and Martha Stewart stickers.

Emma and I hope to get some stamping time in this weekend.  Jay has some woodworking to finish, so we'll both be busy crafting.  ~megan

S'mores Anyone?

This little Fred Bear was released a month or so ago.  I had him stamped and on my desk and I finally got him colored in.  He's just a doll.  I used MFT watercolor cardstock {my favorite} and Twinkling H2Os.  Of course, the twinkle is only seen IRL.  It's just a little shimmer.

I used one of MFT's dienamics, the open scallop border along the top, a little twill tag, and a little clip on the sentiment.  I love those clips.  Totally adorable.

I put some crackle accents on the fire and it makes it look really cool!  {{Or hot?}}

Emma and I have a long to-do list today, so we better get to it.  Starting with taking the mail out and some laundry....

Movie? Football? Sitcom?

What do you think these guys are watching? Since there's popcorn, you think I'd lean towards a movie. But tomorrow marks an important date. One I've been waiting on for months. And that would be.
Dallas Cowboy Football.
So I'm proposing that these three little guys are watching football. Their Witten, Romo, and Austin jerseys are at the cleaners...

When I saw this sketch I was thinking there was no way I'd be able to make it work. Those three whopper jawed panels were killing me. However, once I started to create, it all fell into place and I adore those little panels. I may have moved the embellishment over a bit too.

One of the panels is the 'popcorn' sentiment repeatedly stamped, one is twill ribbon, and the last is something pretty cool....fabric tape. This stuff is neat-o. It is just a strip of fabric that is self adhesive. Love it! The paper is from MME, image cut with nesties, and colored with Prismacolor pencils. There's a little tag and a cut up flower attached to the bow. Do you spy the divine twine? I colored that with a copic marker....to make it a little more popcorny.

That's all from me today. Check out my SFYTT sister's talent here:

Forget about the cake....

Did you see this week's TCP challenge? The inspiration picture? YIKES!

Since I found all those bright colors very scary I thought this dp was a great way to incorporate lots of color and the kraft kicks it *down* a notch.

I used this sweet little bunny image and colored him with prismacolor pencils. I added some glittery goodness to the cake and candles. It's a little tag that I used for a little birthday present.

Quick Friday post! Do you ever wish you had ten crafty hands? Man, I've been needing a set of hands for each project I want to get complete! I've been knitting and weaving a bit and would love to wrap up those projects so I can start some more! Hopefully I'll have some completed yarny projects soon! Of course, I squeeze in stampy time too--that's why I need more crafty hands! ~megan

MFT's Greatest Hits: Jolinne

It's time for MFT's Greatest Hits!  And this month, we're showcasing our sweet little Jolinne.  I think this one's my favorite, though if I had stamped a different one, it'd be my favorite for the moment!  Check Kim's blog to see links to each Jolinne flashbacks!

I've seen some beautiful coloring with Copics lately and I decided to give mine some practice.  I enjoy coloring with colored pencils and watercoloring, so the Copics could go untouched if I didn't try to pick them up once in a while!

Do you spy a dinemaic in there?  Maybe used with some cork?  I got some new goodies and I used some of them for today's card.  And my new MME paper--you'll be seeing lots more of it from me.

I'm on my way out the door, so here's my card recipe.  :)  ~megan

Paper: red hot cardstock, MME paper
Ink: Momento
Image: Jolinne {currently out of stock}
Tools: small scallop dienamic, nesties, janome
Accessories: cork, buttons, bling, Copics

WTG on Canvas

One morning I was playing around with some of my felts and fabrics and thought it'd be fun to highlight the Who's That Harvesting Girl

I stamped her with Momento on canvas and frayed the egdes.  I thought it'd be fun to only color the apples and let them jump off....the canvas.  I colored them with copics and didn't do too much worrying about shading since I wasn't going to get much definition.

I used MFT's green felt and ricrac dienamic to make a little detail behind the main panels.  Then, I added a bit of crochet trim and a button.  The sentiment is stamped on dp from Basic Grey.

Virtual Stamp Night

Happy Friday!  I played along in one of last week's VSN challenges over on SCS.  Have you ever played along in one?

I pulled out one of my recent purchases from Technique Tuesday.  I noticed they recently became a member company at SCS and I picked up one of their sets when I was at a scrapbook convention.

I stamped the image on a kraft base and cut it with nesties.  I added liquid pearls, spica pen (to the leaves), and tied it off with a big green ribbon.  The beautiful paper is some you'll be seeing a lot from me.  It's Crate, the Mia collection {currently on sale!} and I think they're quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites...or maybe the favorite.  Hmmmm....

I also wanted to post this picture of my fellow IHP DT member, Gretchen, and I.  We joined the team at the same time and we got to meet each other around this time last year.  She brought her sweet daughter, Savannah, who took our picture.  Next time, Savannah will have to get in the picture.  She got to meet Emma and she's brought Emma a few little presents, including a darling tag blanket.  I've heard really great stories about little girls loving their tag blankets, so I think Emma will love it!

We have a busy weekend planned {holiday here in the U.S.}, but I hope to be back with my SFYTT tomorrow!  ~megan

MFT Blog Hop and Shop

Welcome to the MFT Blog Hop and Shop.  I hope you've enjoyed all the fun teasers of the stamps and dies!  Oh, the goodies to be had...

I have two little diddies to show you tonight.  First up, are our newest characters, the Flapper Doodles.  They're tandem for this one!  I stamped them on MFT's Perfect Paper Panels and colored them with Copics and layered with some of MFT's red cardstock.  I thought this color combo was perfect retro for this retro pair!

I also made up a few tags for a friend of mine.  The little characters perfectly represented her family {minus the dad, but I'll make him a little tag too} and I thought it'd be great to fix them up a Halloween treat.  I stamped the haunted house directly on the tag and put crackle accents on the roof.  I used the new Wendy Alpha set so they'll know which is theirs, but I think it's pretty obvious!

Do you spy the new star border dienamic?!  It's so versatile for all kinds of projects.

Your next stop on the hop {hop on the stop?} is the wonderfully talented Susie Stamps A Lot of Goodness.

MFTeasers: WTG and Flopsey

It's release day!  I have two more teasers for you today.  Here's a few things you should know about the release:
  • Check out Kim’s blog any time after 11AM EST each day to get the list of which Design Team members are also featuring these sets on their blogs today.
  • Join us for the release party on Wednesday, September 1th from 8-10 PM EST on the MFT Member Forum of SCS.
  • All new products go live Wednesday at 10 PM EST in the MFT Boutique
  • MFT Hop & Shop starts Wednesday at10 PM EST on Kim's blog

To start, I have a card with this month's WTG.  I just love this girl!  I usually love them, but this one I really love.  I was using some more muted colors and decided to use mild colors when coloring her in.  I did want a little pop of read and what better thing to "pop" than her book?

I stamped the image on MFT Copic cardstock and colored her in with Prismacolor pencils.  I should probably note that I like to use the colored pencils on smooth cs and this cs is no exception.  I used the *new* notebook edge dienamic, twill tape, and a few buttons.

Next up is our long lost Flopsey!  This little guy has been hiding in the park, flying his kite!

I stamped the image on the same cs as WTG and colored him with Prismacolor pencils.  You'll see some white clouds cut with the clouds dienamic and felt cut with the ricrac dienamic.  There's also some crochet trim for a little extra detail.

I used some thread to make the kite string, here's a detail shot:

Don't forget about tonight's blog hop!  It'll be loads of fun.  ~megan
