Cheers!

Today, the MFT Design Team is showing off the new a la modes.  They're so cute this month!

I did a bit of traveling while I was in college (part of some study abroad programs) and it was common for people to say "cheers" on a regular basis.  It was always fun to say in English or Spanish!  When I saw this set, I thought it'd be fun to play up that memory.

I used some white ribbon to tie the big bow.  The little martini glass from the Let's Toast Die-namics was a perfect fit for the sentiment and a little bling:

I used a clear glaze pen (three coats) to get a good shine on this glass.  Here's a detail shot:

I also decided to stamp a little on the inside.  The sentiment is from the Let's Toast stamp set.  That font is fabulous!

Thanks Tag

**This post is a little late, blogger is giving me fits!**

Today, we are unveiling Let's Toast Stamp Set and Die-naimcs.  It's one of the BIG sets with many sentiments and images to choose from.  This set makes it super easy to create a quick little tag to add to a bottle of wine.  The past couple of times we've been going to someone's house for dinner I haven't had anything to take.  The old adage "don't go empty handed" is always ringing in the back of my mind!  Enter: these Die-namics and stamps.

I used the new Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics for the background.  Then, I used the Circle STAX Die-namics to cut a circle for the sentiment (loving that new font!) and layered it on a Dizzy Doily Duo Die-namics.  A little bling and red ribbon tie it off nicely.  Oh, that darling little wine glass is part of the Die-namics set.

What's Kickin'?

We have a new Fred Bear this month--Kung Fu Fred.  As we speak, I have a karate kid kicking around in my belly, so this card has some real feeling for me!

The stamp set comes with the cute little plank of wood break in half.  I chose to stamp it on the background panel to keep Fred the main focal point.  I colored him with Copics and popped him up on a circle panel cut with the new Circle STAX Die-namics.  I used the little star from the Notched Tag Die-namics to add a little "oomph" in his kick.

Here's a close up of a layer of white ribbon and a piece of black felt.  I cut the felt with the Simply Scallops Medium Die-namics and then again with the new Pinking Edge Die-namics.

I also used the Mix and Match Banners Die-namics (the one with the coordinating pinking edge) for the sentiment.

Let's Shake it Up

Welcome to the first day of MFTeasers!  This month went by so fast, I can't believe it's already time for teasers, but I'm glad because of all the cute new products being released.  You're in a for a real treat!

Our sweet new Who's That Girl, Let's Grab Drinks, is ready for a night on the town.  I paper pieced her outfit and used my airbrush {are you noticing a trend?!} to shade the edges.  The reason I prefer using the airbrush rather than a distress ink is the color options.  I can match the patterned paper to whichever marker coordinates the best and voila!

Do you see that sentiment?  First, I used the new Circle STAX Die-namics to stamp the sentiment.  I layered that circle on a little Dizzy Doily that is a part of the Mini Doily Circles Die-namics.  Do you sense my excitement over these little doilies?!  I've been having so much fun with these little guys.

I also used the Skyline Border Die-namics to set the scene for this WTG.  This provided the perfect "cityscape" to achieve that.  The Little Open Scallop Border Die-namics also added a little detail to the back panel.

March Creative Chat

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:

Show us how you store your MFT Stamps.
Do you have any tips or tricks on organization?

Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge and get ready to delve into the minds of our creative team.

You can see my videos from previous chats here (Dienamics storage), here (cardstock and cardstock scrap storage), here (patterned paper storage), and here (desk layout).  The desk layout video will be most helpful in seeing where these drawers are in relation to everything else.

Later Gator

I'm popping in with my last sample for this month's Sketch For You To Try.  There's a few more days to participate and then we'll be back with a new sketch in April!

When I get a chance to ink up my Paper Smooches stamps, I jump on it.  I used the new He Said, She Said set and the Zoo Crew set.  I combined those with some new Lily Bee paper that coordinates nicely.

After I stamped and colored this sweet little gator, I covered him in crackle accents.  I used a canvas star from my stash to anchor the sentiment.  Lastly, I added some sparkly bling under the main panel.

Here's the Scoop

The Card Patterns clan has a *new* sketch today!  You can find all the details here.  My Favorite Things is sponsoring it this week and you can play along for a fabulous prize.  :)

I used the a la modes It's Getting Deep for that large rectangular panel.  I colored her with Copics--which I've been trying to get better with.

The yellow gingham paper was cut with the Die-namics Simply Scallops Medium and I wrapped a piece of twill around that.  I *just* did a video about how I tie my bows here.  The half oval panel was created using the Oval Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics and the Oval STAX Die-namics.  To anchor the sentiment, I used the smallest Pretty Posies Die-namics with pink cardstock.

Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon

After making a video last month called Buttons, Buttons, Buttons (a how-to sew buttons on cards and a few inspirational ideas on how to use buttons), I made another one titled Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon.  It's a how-to tie bows and a few other ideas on how to use ribbon.

In additional to that, it's time for a new sketch for Weekly Stamp Club at SCS.  Check here for details and check out Kim's blog for all the samples.

Here's the ribbon video:

Thanks for sticking with me through all those samples!  If you haven't subscribed to my YouTube channel, you can do so here.  Have a good one!
